Raspberry Stitch 1 - 3

This Raspberry Stitch can be made using any size hook or yarn.

This stitch is made using multiples of 3 sts.
This stitch is made in the round not in rows.

Also a very important note, the raspberries are made on the back or “wrong side” of the project your working on, so if your making a hat you will have to turn your hat inside out to get the textured side once your done making it, so please keep this in mind.
It’s easier to start this stitch if you have a solid row first, so make your round of single crochets (or whatever) before starting a round of the Raspberry Stitch. If you learn better by watching, please enjoy these helpful tutorials below.

ABBREVIATIONS

ch = Chain

To start:
To make the stitch crochet a sc, dc, sc all in the same stitch.
Skip 2 stitches and repeat sc, dc, sc all in the same.
As shown in pictures below

Rasp st combined

When ending and beginning your first round, you want to slip stitch into the first sc then sc into stitch as shown in Picture 1. Then work the stitch as normal, putting a DC and a SC to finish the stitch as shown in Picture 2.

Picture 3

Then skip two stitches and repeat the Raspberry stitch (SC, DC,SC) into the first sc of the next raspberry cluster. Continue all the way around, remember from here on out, there is no need to sl st into the beginning stitch of a round, just continue in one continous round.

After a few rounds, you should be able to see the pattern start to form. Have fun!
